Ontario PC interim leader Fedeli not seeking leadership

The Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario’s Interim Leader Victor Fedeli announced on Tuesday that he will not run for permanent leadership of the provincial party but instead work to fix it from the inside.

The PC Member of Provincial Parliament said that he wanted to focus on internal party issues such as errors with its computer systems, membership analysis and internal communication.

Mr. Fedeli rose to the position on Friday after former leader Patrick Brown resigned following allegations of sexual misconduct earlier in the week.

Fedeli acknowledged it was a “chaotic time” for the PCs, but plans to “root out any rot that has manifested itself”, during a news conference at Queen’s Park in Toronto.

“All of this needs work and that’s what I intend to do.”
